COVID-19 & TORNADO RESPONSE

Hello Friends and Family of Steinway:

Over the last weeks, staying up-to-date with how our community has been affected by both COVID-19 and the Nashville-area tornado has been among our top concerns.  So many lives are being touched in these circumstances.  We would like to share with you an update on how we’re choosing to manage everything at Steinway Piano Gallery and Alabama Piano Gallery. 

Our staff and their families have personally had minimal challenges to sort through as a result of the tornadoes.  We know of no exposure to COVID-19 virus to date.  This is allowing us to stay focused on both helping and protecting those in our community.

We continue to clean and sanitize with best practices in both our Nashville and Birmingham stores for the protection of you, our customers. This includes counters, doorknobs, pens, desks, chairs, etc, that everyone shares. We respect the concept of social distancing and are doing everything possible to ensure safety and health while customers are in our stores. 

In order to not only protect the health of our customers but also of our staff, we are cancelling all recitals, concerts, and events that were scheduled in our stores throughout the months of March and April. This decision has not been made lightly, as we know this impacts the work that the performers have been pouring into their preparation and is disheartening to both them and their excited audience.  We are indeed sorry but trust everyone will agree it is the right decision to make. As we get closer to May, we will evaluate the other events coming up.  We will notify everyone as soon as is prudent.

As a local, small business, we have always needed to work to be flexible as we accommodate our clients’ needs.  That will not change. We are still here to meet your piano shopping needs and are able to extend appointments to you.  Please know this can also include a visit to you, a FaceTime call, after hours appointment, or a discussion via email or text. We will do whatever we can in order to assist you in the selection of your piano. We recognize the financial impact that both the virus and the tornado can have on families in our community.  In order to help alleviate some of that challenge, we will be covering the cost of sales tax on all purchases through the end of April. 

We are Nashville. We are Birmingham. We will get through this. Our company has weathered many storms in the last 91 years of serving our customers, and we will weather this as well.
