Nashville International Piano Competition

The Steinway Society of Nashville is pleased to announce the 7th biannual Nashville International Piano Competition and will be hosted at

Application Deadline

This competition will award winners with cash prizes (not a scholarship).

The Nashville International Piano Competition will be open to all classically trained high school pianists in grades 9 through 12 (or within the four years before university entrance), regardless of their present state or country of residence. Those interested in applying for one of these prizes should complete the Online Application indicated by the link on this page. Complete competition information is available under “The Rules” link. Due date for registration is TBD. 

Cash Prizes for the Competition are:
1st Prize: $5000
2nd Prize: $3000
3rd Prize: $2000

The Steinway Society of Nashville – a tax-exempt, nonprofit organization and sponsor for the event – is hosting its 8th competition in Spring 2027, continuing thereafter on a biennial basis. A panel of noted judges will determine the winners. Competition repertoire requirements for 2027 are listed on the “Application Rules” page.

Concerto Sponsor — $10,000 and above

  • First prize naming rights to first Concerto sponsor
  • Performance by winner at your personal event

Sonata Sponsor — $5,000-$9,999

  • Second prize naming rights
  • 1 full page ad in NIPC program and listing in program

Etude Sponsor — $3,00-$4,999

  • Etude level includes third prize naming rights.
  • 1 full page ad in NIPC program and listing in program

Impromptu — $2,000-$2,999: 1/2 page ad in NIPC program and listing in program

Intermezzo — $1,000-$1,999: 1/4 page ad in NIPC program and listing in program

Prelude — $500-$999: Listing in program
